NEWS from Bothams of Whitby

The bakery and “Brackery” is busy and we are now in full production of fruit cakes for Christmas. We make a special cake to go with Wensleydale Cheese as a shared project with our good friends at Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes. This pack is available from our website and will soon be in several supermarket chains throughout the country.
We are also delighted to be supplying Waitrose stores in the North of England (Willerby, Harrogate, Eldon Square, Otley, Hexham, Sheffield and Ponteland) and John Lewis flagship stores on Oxford Street, London and at Bluewater, Kent. The John Lewis Store, Oxford Street is doing a tasting of our Plum Bread this weekend – so if you are in town, do drop in and have a taste!

It’s Whitby Regatta this weekend and the town will be packed with people for the three days, highlighting in the Red Arrows on Monday and a spectacular fireworks display Monday evening. There’s lots to see and well worth making the trip over the moors.

We are presently in negotiation with our parcel shippers and hoping that very shortly, we will be able to drop the extra fuel surcharge – a great relief to all of us! So to compensate for the time being, I have a special offer if you place an order of £10 or more, we will give you a great 10% discount. From the 21st to the 30th August, all you have to do is place an item in your basket then enter 310809 into the coupon code box. When you take a look at your basket you should see the discount information. If you can’t, then re-input the code into the coupon box. All other multi-discounts still apply.
Happy shopping! Kind regards,
Michael Jarman

Bid on our tea cosies!

We all had a great time looking at the wonderful tea cosies that had been made for our competition; the judges had the difficult task of deciding who would win from the excellent handiwork of the entrants. Decide they did, however, and now the cosies are up for auction. Make your selection by number and name, enter your bid by emailing your name, address and email address plus your bid price by 5pm on 27 March 2012. There is a reserve price of £5 on each cosy. Once we have received all bids, we will inform the highest bidder for each cosy, who can then purchase their wonderful cosy.
